You will be accompanied by (Seba Tours Egypt) Tour guide who will pick you from your hotel in Cairo by the air conditioned vehicle to travel towards Alamein city (approximately 265 KM northwest of Cairo, and around 3 - 3.30 Hrs. Driving) .it’s beautiful town overlooking the Mediterranean Sea , and some significant battles of World War II were held there.
You will start the tour by going to visit the Military Museum of World War II. The museum has separate halls dedicated to the four main countries involved in the war: Great Britain, Italy, Germany and Egypt. Another hall contains collections of memorabilia, uniforms, photos and maps. On display outside is a range of tanks and artillery from the battlefield. Also the descriptions actions of Montgomery, Rommel and the others participated in the battle are displayed.Â
After that proceeding your tour to the West of Al Alamein to visit the WW II Cemeteries which contains the graves of men who died at all stages of the Western Desert campaigns, brought in from a wide area, but especially those who died in the Battle of El Alamein at the end of October 1942 and in the period immediately before that. The tombs belong to the soldiers of the Commonwealth forces, Greek, Italian and German forces. The cemetery is open every day from 07:00 am - 17:00. Visitors should note that when the gardeners leave the site at 14:30 the visitors book and register book are also removed. Between 14:30 and 17:00 there is a police guard outside the cemetery. Visitors arriving between these times will be given access, but should bear in mind the absence of the books.
