Imam Hussein Mosque Location
Imam Hussein Mosque is an ancient mosque situated in Cairo, Egypt, in an area known as Old Cairo or Islamic Cairo, within walking distance of downtown Cairo, near Khan al-Khalili. Al-Hussein Mosque is one of Cairo’s main Islamic holy sites. It was built in 1154 at the time of the Fatimid Caliphate.
Description of Hussaini Masjid

The Husseini Mosque is built in a Gothic style with red pillars and Ottoman minaret-style minarets. They are cylindrical and have 2 round, conical ends. On the western side of the stage are three doors; on the tribal side, there is a door, and on the seaside, there is a sign where there are ablutions.
The mosque consists of five rows of arches with marble columns, and its attractive decoration feature is the fine scrap metal, the small pieces made of colored ceramic instead of marble. Next to it is a pulpit, built in the wooden area of 1311 HA / 1893 AD, which is adjacent to two doors of the Dome and a second that leads to the lavatory.
The enormous candlestick in the Arab world is inside the mosque, weighing up to five tons of crystal decorated with pure gold and columns of pure silver.
Facts about Al-Hussein Mosque

Al-Hussein Mosque contains the oldest complete copy of the Qur’an, which may be the best thing about the mosque. Most people also put Hussein’s head there after the Umayyads in Iraq cut off his head because he was the grandson of Muhammad in 680. The Hussein Mosque is still one of the most important places of worship in Egypt and Islam.
Because of its religious and historical significance, many foreign leaders and Muslims worldwide visit the mosque. The only thing that stands out is the presence of two giant canopies on either side of the entrance to this mosque. These were built for two reasons: to keep worshipers dry during heavy rainstorms and to give much-needed shade to worshipers outside the mosque. It is interesting to see how the awnings open electrically before they are needed.
